The United Kingdom
England is the largest and most populous of the four countries that make up the United Kingdom. It occupies the southern part of the island of Great Britain, bordered to the north by Scotland and to the west by Wales. Surrounding it are the North Sea, the Irish Sea, the Celtic Sea or the Atlantic Ocean, and the English Channel, which separates it from mainland Europe. With a population of over 57 million and a land area of around 130 000 square kilometres, England is home to both the UK’s capital, London, and many of its largest cities. The country is divided into 48 ceremonial counties. Historically, England has been the political and cultural centre of the British Isles, and much of what is considered "British" today - language, government, common law - has its roots here.
The English countryside is varied and gentle - green fields, wooded hills, and winding rivers - interrupted now and then by historic towns, stone cottages, and centuries-old cathedrals. In contrast to the drama of the Highlands, England’s beauty is often quieter, more pastoral. The weather is famously indecisive: rarely extreme, often grey, and always a topic of conversation. Though much of the population lives in urban areas, the countryside still plays a key role in the national imagination, full of hedgerows, meadows, and hills.
Hidden in the southwest corner of England, Cornwall is a land of dramatic coastlines, charming fishing villages, and rich Celtic heritage. From the windswept cliffs of the north to the tranquil coves of the south, it’s a place where history, nature, and culture come together in a truly paradise. It is the evergreen county of England.

Devon
Tucked between Cornwall, Somerset, and Dorset, Devon is a land of two coastlines, rolling hills, and wild moors. From the dramatic cliffs of the north to the gentler coves of the south, it’s a county where nature is vast and unspoiled. It is home to one of the biggest cities in the South West Region - Plymouth.

Greater London
Surrounded by the quieter counties of the South, Greater London stands as England’s vibrant heart. It is the county with the largest city of the UK within, and the largest city entirely located in Europe, with population close to numbers of NY's.
